It will spool quick but power is likely going to flat line by 5K tops. For 5~600HP and 5~5200rpm shift it will work ok just don't expect 800HP, and 6500RPM out of it.

So will the small turbine wheel help it spool up quickly then?
That depends on if the .96 isn't cutting it... Small turbines generally spool faster.

Thanks for the info guys!

One more thing. My truck has a T56 6-speed, not an auto. Would a smaller turbine lend itself better to a manual than an auto in terms of spool up time?

Was considering a 160 t-stat myself and then read a pretty convincing article against it (I believe on LS1 tech). Pretty sure it had something to do with oil viscosity and bearing life, can't remember.

After feeling the gains from a 75mm turbine over a 65 and 68 wheel ill never go back to something that small. Its easier to reach you power goals too. Gonna make more power per # of boost. I would think it would be easier on the motor too. A lot less pressure and can run a little more timing safely

I agree,, dont go cheap.
Get a good size turbine and that thing will have a wicked top end.

Do you have a 2 Step??

Already went cheap But certainly can't hurt to plan out the next turbo

Am I correct in thinking that I'm going to max out the Walbro 255 quickly? Assuming a bsfc 0.65lb/hp-hr and flow rate 60gal/hr at 13.5V, that's about 560 hp.

You'll be fine with one 255 for now. Just add in another when you feel like you need another
