Looks familiar, Detonation killed that piston and yours. The tuning on the Nissan leaves little to be desired IMHO.

**** breaks.
Really want to make power? Buy a 2500 D-Max w/Allison and do the exhaust and program. It'll put out @ 600hp and 1000lb/ft tq. That's power!

I was eating those up all day at the track the other night.. Id stick with a gas motor

The two bottom pics are from my motor. Nissan has a known problem with their cats. They are known to break apart internally and get sucked into the motor.

Stillen claims that if there is any restriction within the the exhaust manifold and cats, it will raise the level of boost. With the ecu not able to enough fuel, it looked like a lean condition happened.

Due to the blower being on the motor when the cat went, Nissan Corp. would not touch it. I came out of pocket to get my truck back on the road.

I got rid of the stock cats and put some long tube headers on.

I would get rid of it and get something else, but I have too much money in the truck now.

Wait, how does stuff get sucked in from the cats into the cylinders? That's going against the flow and "uphill". Just not understanding the how that can happen?

It's time for "real" aftermarket support...The new plan is a 2wd Sierra Denali 6.2L 6-spd....I will put the Titan back to stock for trade in and sell the aftermarket Titan parts to peeps in forums...

I think he mean't the cats were breaking up inside and eventually clogged which raised his boost and that what maybe cracked his piston....

What I am finding out about the d-max is that the allison tranny is only good for an 80hp tune....anymore than that I hear you are running on borrowed time! I don't see the point in buying a 50k truck if I have to drop the tranny just to get it as fast as my Titan was NA...The 07' 2wd denali should get well into the 13's NA once the aftermarket support is there......To get a d-max into the 13's I would need a 1,300 dollar Tq converter installed and a shift kit in order to make it "reliable"...The Denali I want stickers for 41,900 I should be able to get them down to around 36-37k..

I dont' think so, he said "They are known to break apart internally and get sucked into the motor." I understood the other part about the restrictive exhaust and faulty cats upping the boost and all but not about the stuff getting sucked in.
