Default WG gasket material

Lately I've had some issues building boost. I chalked it up to the crappy weather we've been having here, but then it just got a lot worse. I could barely get 5psi at the top of 1st. I was giving the once over visual inspection when I found my wastegate gasket blown out considerably in two spots. I imagine it did this from me removing and installing it a few times while changing the spring. I used some high temp RTV to get me by for a day or two, but that lasted about 2 sec.

Anyway, what material do you guys suggest I use so this doesn't happen again? What kind of gasket do you have and how often do you replace it? I saw some S/S ones on ebay, they look like a turbo gasket, so they might worth a try. I don't think they'd blow out as easily with repeated removal and install either. I can just have them burn some on the laser here at work too.

I've had good luck with some I got from a local shop. They are the regular graphite style with a stainless fire ring, kind of like a head gasket. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is.

I would think a thin sheet of pure or high copper content gasket would seal well and last to boot. If you can get one made up that is.
They use copper crush ashers on brake line fittings but those have concentric rings in them to seal properly. I think it would work, my old R1 and FZR100 had copper gaskets in the exhaust control valve cover.
Never leaked.

That's a good idea, I didn't think of that. The collector gaskets on my car are copper and I've removed and installed those a ton of times with no leaks. I can get pure copper sheets, but I think it's too reflective for our lasers and too soft for the tourrets. I could probably cut it by hand though.
