5.3 would take care of you. im putting down almost 500ftlbs to the ground at 6psi so imagine what 10 will get you with your same setup and a 70mm starts spoolin on mine at about 2500

Just curious, why not go with a 6.0 and lower the boost?

Very sorry to hear. At least it wasn't an expensive motor huh? So many good options!

Because you can buy 2 5.3's for the price of 1 6.0 or if you shop around you could probably buy 3 4.8's.

Man i would think the extra 70+ cubes would be worth the extra, maybe $500, for a engine. But hey, those 4.8's are cheap horsepower and people usually count them out and will sell them cheap. I just did my LQ4 swap and enjoy all the extra grunt out of boost.... so maybe i am a little biased

3 options as it stands...

1. Junkyard 4.8 on 12 lbs (back to where I was before)

2. Forged rods/pistons 5.3 (17ish lbs of boost ~ 650ish wheel, reliability not proven)

3. TSP Forged 370 longblock (billet wheel 80mm, 18ish lbs, 800 wheel reliable for at least 2 or 3 years of weekend driving and a good tune)

I want to go with route number 3, but it will end up costing me around 10,000 dollars for everything including a new fuel system which pushes me back towards route 1.

My tuner wants me to go with route 2 because he is a ford guy and loves his small motors with less **** flying around to break.

I like option 2 but you will need more turbo. You prolly wont make that hp with that little 70mm, especially with the small turbine. What size turbine is it?
