Water, Water/Meth or Methenol?

hemifever, Do know if I put in 60lb injectors, will I have any start/idle problems that the SMT6 can't handle? The 55lb injectors were handling nicely and I was running a 12.3 to 12.5 a/f's with 26* of timing. It was only after I increased the boost, that the 55lb injectors couldn't handle the task. The truck started missing at 5200 rpms. In order to get the rid of the missing, we had to pull some fuel away plus some timing. I know that the 60lb injectors will solve the problem up top, I was just wondering about map voltage and how they would handle down low.

The 60# injectors will work. I ran them for about 2 weeks. For my setup, it was a TAD sluggish at part throttle. I had to take away 2 #'s from the map table cells I believe and that didn't kick in a limp mode. At WOT in high boost it was great. In low boost (3psi), I had to take so much map voltage away from the previous setup that it just didn't have good power. You won't have that issue being yours will always be in "high boost".

what? No. If you were a 100% alky fueled motor, then you could run it leaner. But what the wbo2 says, is the way it is. If you want to push the boundaries of a safe afr, you could probably do so more on the end of 100% meth versus' say 50/50 meth/water. But you are always gonna here around here, unless you are in the world of replacing crap, stick to keeping the FI afr under 12.1:1. Under. Yeh 12.25 is probably not unheard of, hell parsh did run that for a while, but I wouldn't. 11.7 to 11.9 is just great!
as far as getting away with 13.2, your playing with fire. actually you are playing with fire with a gasoline soaked shirt. You might not get knock, but you are certainly frying those pistons.
As Ky might have already said, the effect of meth is having a great tune and then throwing meth to it and you now have an afr of 10.5:1. You need to start to lean out your vcm's commanded fueling to make up the difference for the meth. You are still targeting the same afr as you were before. You just now have meth in there to help run more boost and more timing.( think of it as a really high octane fuel)

I'm glad you chimed in. From HP tuners, I thought that when you added a 50/50 mix, your a/f's will show a .5 leaner a/f due to the extra oxygen content. My monitered egt's have only hit 800* FH at wot. Aluminum melts at 1200* From inspecting the piston's, they look great so far. I just don't like my gut feeling of running that lean. BTW, bigger injectors are on the way.

I am quiet surprised you egt's are that low. IMO. WHere is your egt sensor? If I go WOT for a long blast, half mile I will see 1500 degrees. 1/4 my egt gets to around 1200 to 1300. typical driving in the city, hahaha I said typical, it never goes over 880 to 950. driving down the highway, give her a little gas to pass, almost 1100. my egt sensor is right after my Y-pipe, about 2' downstream. Right under the extended cab part.

My egt probe is mounted within 3" of the of the #1 exhaust port, inside the header tube itself. With the probe mounted there, it should be in the leanest exhaust port possible. We used a pyrometer to select the hottest/leanest exhaust tube first. In normal driving conditions, the egt's were between 675 and 700. Blast on the boost and it jumped to 800.
