Supposedly the only real benefit to a NA motor is being able to run more timing, and timing is where the power is!!!

that was really the only reason for me to go to the water/meth kit is higher octane and cooler intake temp so the result could be more timing, and i'm guessing i could run a LOT more timing!

ok i had a home built kit on my 5.3 till i thought about trading it in and stripped it.. now i'm waiting to put it back on.. i had the truck running 34-36* of timing and was getting almost 20mpg around town now that i'm keeping the truck i can't wait to reinstall it.. at my work we sell parts to alot of harris engineers ( depart of defense) and one of them runs around in a ford festiva.. head milled all to hell.. running way to much timing using washer fluid with a bottle of iso heet in one of those cooling system overflow bottles from advance.. the car down right moves out and he pulls a claimed almost 50mpg..

the hardest part of the whole kit when home made was activation.. i actually dissasembled a vac. gauge and used it to press a mini micro switch when ever i had less than x amount of vacuum it would come in.. i used the nozzle from my cooling mist kit for my car the smaller one and a washer fluid pump..

now i would go through some fluid.. about 2 bottles a week but i drive ALOT and i'm pretty hard on it..

honestly i know there are a few more on here that do it cause i've spoken with them.. but everytime someone posts about it they usually get told there dumb.. LOL

give it a shot you won't be disapointed..

Mike

I think it would help. Especially on a hot day, or high compression low octain setup. People have used water injection to supress detination for years. I don't see how meth couldn't bolster some power.

When I mentioned this in internal engine mods it got wierd looks. I think it would be a cheap way to get more power for a guy with a high CR.

Sounds like that kit would really make a difference for me. How much did you spend in parts for the home made kit?
