I guess it could be but I wonder why the boost went down when I fixed the boost leak. I thought the boost would have went up when I fixed the leak.

great then just crank you controller down untill you get it to 7-8 psi and your done...if your running hi boost at 13.5 then you should be able to turn it down to 7-8 psi

One down side to that is my controller is under the truck so I would have to get out of the truck to turn it back up. I just ordered a 10psi spring to see if that will get me to 7.5 to 8psi on low boost.

Perfect spot to mount it.

I dumps back into my exhaust pipe due to my wideband being after the turbo.

I have a TiAL 38 mm and I get 8.5 psi boost on a 6 lb spring (red)....LOL. I always wondered why it did this and STS had no answer. I guess my gate is too small and yours is too big. I think that it is the size of waste-gate you are running that is causing your boost pressure to be lower than your rated spring pressure.

I think your boost pressure should have stabilized or gone up when you fixed your boost leak. Maybe it is just going out the waste-gate now that back pressure is increased in the intake tubing.

One benefit I find on running the boost controller over the waste-gate alone to get a given boost level is that the overall performance seems to improve. The waste-gate seems to bleed boost off progressively while the control seems to hold boost until it reaches the set level and then opens. Or at least holds it shut longer before it begins to creep open. This seems to improve performance at lower boost levels and lower throttle angles.

Those are my theories for today....LOL

My waste-gate is vented to the atmosphere and my sensor is after the turbo and I have never found it to be a problem. As long as it is only blowing exhaust out and not sucking air in it should be OK. Hope I am right about this.......What me worry ......LOL

I actually vented mine to the atmosphere to see if it would lower boost on the 6 lb spring but it didn't seem to change anything. I tried a 4 lb (yellow) spring and it reduced boost to 5.5 psi but the performance really fell off so I put the red spring back in and bought a WBO2 and tuning software to keep an eye on it.

I might be wrong but I wouldn't think that your wideband would read right with the wastegate vented to atmosphere. I guess if your not sucking air in it could be ok but I wanted to keep it all sealed up to make sure I am getting a good reading.

i agree, i think when you fixed the leak your reference is stronger (for lack of better term) and is opening the gate sooner or faster.
