Not true. You can get a low pressure, pressure regulator and plumb it to the top of the gate.

Something like this:


Basically adds an air spring in addition to the spring in the gate.

had mine wrong should been to top port . line off my turbo blows air not sucks .so having it on bottom really blows air in to diaphram opening gate .putting it on top helps spring hold gate close .so i can run more boost.

you can run manual controller like that to the side of the gate to, you pretty much restrict the air instead of adding it if you are on side port

done that on several cars

ok then restricting air would make the spring control gate right ,so I am running a 5lb spring when had mine at bottom port opening valve turning to the + side would let air push gate open making less boost when close valve restricting air spring took over

If you have a manual boost controller going to side port of WG and you tighten it (clockwise) it will block pressure going to the WG therefor adding boost

Ive only ever done electronic if im using the top port and having it controlled by computer in which case you use both side and top ports and its controlled by a electronic solenoid
