Default Wastegate leaking around the valve guide ?s.

I was testing my new wastegate with an air compressor, and I'm getting some leakage at the valve guide. Is this normal? It's not bad, but I can here it leaking, and I can feel it when I cap the ends with my hands.

What brand is it? Where did you put the air pressure? how much pressure did you put in it?

I only had about 10-15 psi on the lower fitting. I'm going to take the wastegate apart, and check how much clearance there is. So my next quesiton is how much clearance should there be?

I'd call one of the Wastegate Manufactures before you take it apart. As long as the valve is seating at rest, it shouldn't matter if a little presure gets past the valve guide. Besides, I would imagine as long as you have a free flowing exhaust, you wouldn't see too many psi when the gate is open.

I'm sure a quick call the a tech line can clear this up.

I checked the clearance, it's only 0.005".
