Have you tried just taken the spring out and seeing what happens?

Cutting and stretching a spring just ruins the spring.
It will never perform the same once that type if mod is done.

Don't modify springs, it doesn't sound like that is going to help. You need to verify the gate is opening fully. A long time ago I had an over boost due to a gate that was not opening fully.

The top port is completely open on your WG right? You didn't put a plug in it or anything did you? You need to run the boost line strait to the manifold with a new piece of hose, then T- off that to your vac block. Or if your compressor cover is taped for a 1/8npt fitting, run that strait to your WG instead. It just sound like your WG is not fully opening or getting a good signal from the manifold (leaking some where).

NO! That will cause you to overboost!

You need to run the line from the compressor housing to the bottom port and leave the top port open.

take off the boost reg, leave the 10 psi spring in and ref it off the compressor housing, of its over boosting after that, you may have a bad diaphragm or you need a better wastegate, I ran a tial 44 in a forged 6.2 at 10 psi and had no problems , it was ref off the compressor housing
