I ran my KB kit both ways and never saw a noticeable difference other than vented to the atmosphere is was MUCH louder and worked more efficiently to control the boost creep issue I had.

If you loose power by redirecting exhausted waste gate exhaust back into you exhaust, you exhaust pipe is too small.

I didn't have time on the dyno to try it both ways so I just ran it to the exhaust. New numbers are in this post.

For now I have the 3" downpipe running into a 3" magnaflow and dumped right behind the cab. I'm going to put on either a 4" MBRP or hopefully I can find a stock 3.5" duramax exhaust for it.

With my 347/78mm setup I had a 3" DP into a 4" Jegs Duramax system all the way out the back. Even with a cutout before the 4" it spooled no faster or made any more power than through full exhaust... That 4" I had FLOWED some air. Plus going from the DP to the rest of the exhaust there was a low pressure arear that I believed to help scavenge gasses and helped spool and overall tq.
