Look at the Autometer Cobalt series. They have black faces with blue led backlighting. Unless you are planning a turbo in the future, I don't really see the need for an oil temp gauge. You would be better served with a fuel pressure gauge instead.

I love my Cobalt gauges, very easy on the eyes even at full brightness at night. haven't found that dimmer wire in my dash yet...

Kinda agree on the oil temp gauge, it's not really needed.

I'd go for something like an aeroforce gauge or something. It can read trans temps too, among like 50 other things.

For NA, get wideband and fuel pressure gauges. For trans oil temp, you can get aeroforce interceptor gauge which can display most of what the PCM reads (RPM, IAT, trans oil temp, timing adv, timing retard, nock and will work as scan gauge and can reset DTC codes.

Also be aware with pillar gauge mounts they block some of your view on the left side of the windshield. I sometimes have to look around them to see what's going on past the gauges. It will interfere with your sun visor too. Just a heads up for you.

Thanks guys I will look into these.

One day I will get around to boost when money is available so I figured I would slowly piece together the gauges and fuel system till then.

I do a lot of hot Texas summer city/traffic driving and was curious as to what the oil temp is compared to the winter. The oil pressure at idle will drop some after driving around for awhile, only 5ish nothing to worry about. The valve train will get slightly nosier as well. I like the idea of a multiple gauge in one though

Would a oil cooler be over kill?

Thanks for the advice guys

I have a 2002 2500HD 6.0, with a ProCharger. I use a Scan Gauge II and 3 pillar gauges.
I have A/F, Rear Axle Temp and Boost along with my light for when my water meth is spraying on my pillar. I had an EGT but burned that up with a few tows across country pulling my horse trailer. I thought about an oil temp but the idea of running an oil line into the cab was something I did not want to do. Yes the instructions at Jegs said to run an oil line into the gauge.
I tow a lot so I worry about the temp of everything but the guy at Jegs said oil temp is not likely to be an issue and suggested the rear dif temp gauge for heavy hot tows.
The Scan Gauge is set to intake air temp, water temp, open or closed loop on the computer and instant MPG, I celebrate when I get double digits for MPG.
Hope that helped someone.

I would highly recommend looking into the Speedhut Revolution gauges. They can be customized how ever you want them to and are less than the autometer gauges. Plus they are made in the USA!
