I don't know why others choose them, but they get my vote for being a little easier to install and get right( as compared to an underhood setup, i know very little about the sts style). Some might even be due to emissions stuff, as some sc's are emissions legal.

The Vortech is capable of making more boost. The Radix is maxed out at around 9PSI, after swapping pullies.
PLUS the Vortech looks cooler

still though, why go the high rpm based, boost limited s/c if thats what you are lookin for as opposed to a turbo? im not questioning anyones decision or anything just wondering what the plus for the vortec style s/c would be over a turbo since they seem to have the same rpm based power bands

yeah less plumbing. I think a supercharger is a lot easier to install (at least for me). I wouldn't have the slightest idea on a turbo.
Another reason I think most go with S/C over turbo is, they are readily available. Meaning they are easier to find for your specific application.
Just my $.02

i also think they are easier to tune for since they have linear power incriments. where a trubo varies. the reaosn i went with the vortech is because i got a helluva deal on it .

good deal, i was just wondering im sure if i looked at the cost of install (time/money) a s/c would appear easier, i dont diss anyone for chosing the vortech s/c over turbo or whatever just wondering what the benefit was. thanks. sorry for stealing the thread.
