Default Used STS Turbo Kit

Hey guys, I've found a used STS turbo kit for my truck. I've been wanting to turbo for a while now and was planning on going with Trick Performance because the great reviews and numbers that I have seen on the forum. My truck is completely stock with 145k on the clock right now. I've read the LM7 5.3 is a great candidate for boosted application and won't have to do a lot of internal modifications to get a decent amount of horsepower increase. I already plan on getting a built transmission. I mostly just see highways with my truck pulling my enclosed 6x10 trailer to and from my dirt bike races. What I want to know is how you guys feel about buying and installing used turbo kits, how you feel about STS with the rear mounted turbo, what are some of the things to look for when buying it, and what are some questions I should ask them before going and looking at it. My goal is work my way up to a reliable 10 psi. I personally don't have any power goals but if I could keep up with the diesels in my town I'll be more than satisfied. Here's the link so you guys can get a better understanding of what I'm looking at. Thanks in advanced!

I wont run a remote mount because the winters in the NJ are horrible, i imagine they aren't too great where you are either- for that reason i wouldn't want my intake under my truck

That's what I was thinking too but I just recently bought a winter beater over the summer. So now I'll only be using my truck in the summer. Honestly the only reason why I'm considering the kit is because it's cheap and it's right on the way to my race this weekend.

Cheapest I have seen one.

Wonder if the turbo is any good? Also wonder what size it is. They had a standard and a larger upgrade.

60mm was standard and GT 76 was the upgrade .

I do miss my STS setup sometimes , it was hands down the best sounding turbo system ever , people would stop and stare and ask what i had on my truck .
It didnt perform that bad either , if i would have had a better tune , ( ran a mail order back then , bad idea on this setup) it would have really been fun , but it didnt do bad at all . The remote oil pump is the worst issue with the kit .
I also ran a snorkel for the air intake and never had water issues .

I think you meant GT67 Tim. That's the one I had.

I decided not to buy it. The more I did research on the product and look at the pictures on the ad, I felt it would be a better decision to just save my money and have a complete and proper single front mounted turbo kit.
