What are you going to do if he beats your 6.0L 4L80E time. (besides go back out and run faster yet). I'm seriously jealous that he has the good 5.3L. I wish I had the L33 in my truck. Now I have to go to a 6.0L or 6.7L.

Oh there's no denying it...I am jealous. I only ride him to make me feel better. Hell, he's cracked into 11's already. EC 4wd 5.3 with a pulley over 3" and a baby shot of nitrous in the 11's (or low 12's) is something to brag about.

You know my answer as so does he....(100hp jet).

Well no worries Dew, I'm going to be working on dialing it in until late fall, maybe I'll reconsider making that trip to S. Texas...

Baby steps. I want to feel how the truck responds to these mods before upping the ante.

I'm interested in seeing how close to 11's he'd be without the nitrous.

You know we'll never know. He's addicted to gas now. LMAO I do the same thing when I get to the staging lanes. "I am gonna try a dry run on boost only...see what it gets me.....wonder what my bottle pressure is, cool, ah fug it, I am juicing it."

Exactly!!

I ran a best of 12.50 (IIRC) without nitrous. I have made a few insignificant upgrades since then. I think in the right weather, with a little tweaking of the tune (if I could ever get Rick to join me that a 12.1 would be doable without nitrous on the current setup.
We will never know. Today, this afternoon, I drop it off for "service" at Synergy Motorsports in Newark Ca. (shameless plug for Rick). Everyone cross their fingers he doesn't blow my **** up on the dyno after all the install is done.

Well I am wondering now what propelled me to take an awesome running and dependable truck and want to throw a lot of $$ at it. Buyers remorse? Will it hold up, will I be happy with it? I guess I will have to wait to see.

Your lil 5.3 will be just fine. I cant wait to see it go further in the 11's.

Hopefully I am ready to go the track in fall. I need a locker, caltracs, Hoosier's, and tuning.
