Old set-up 2.3 Whipple



New set-up is a PT 76 Turbo being done by PSI Motorsports

 

psi was the one who did my Turbo stetup in my lightning...
awsome work just took FOREVER and was hard as hell to get ahold of patrick

they squeezed 721rwhp@20psi outta my lil o 5.4 2valve

 

After seening the work on your the Turbo set-up, A Turbo was step in my mind!! My set-up will be close to yours Denali, My truck has been there since Jan. BUT the oringal plan was a swap of the 2.3 for a 3.4 Whipple then a month later my mind changed for a Turbo! When I told Pat about he was booked and he had told me 3-4 months to touch it, I had to sell parts to make some money, so left it there and tore it apart. They are still behind of what he told me. It got started two weeks ago and that is the progress so far. Also we are expecting a little more than 800 Hp on the 5.4 2 valve

 

yea he tld me 3-4 weeks so i got it to him a month early to be sure and paid him in full ($6000) then 7 months later when i get all the way over there he said it was more than originally planed and i owed another $1075.... i was ******* pissed..
also my truck started smoking idling in the parking lot and patrick said "thats just the oils burning off the pipes" 200 miles later NO oil in the truck i filled it back up and guess what 300 miles later no oil... if it would idle it would start smoking.... it did not do it before i dropped it off
this was the problem... he detonated some on my pistons
but i couldn't prove it so didn't even tell him... i did tell him it was using oil and he replied "let me call you back" and never answered again... so i called from another number and he answered.... i was pissed

I saw that pic and I thought you where Blaming Stricty Performance for your bad Motor at first??? You said Since you pick it up at stricky your engine had piston slap or whatever. Here is where i saw it at the third post

lol... they are really busy and he is not only the owner but he is the tuner/operator/and answers the phone....

just wish he would had been a little more customer appreciative he would had gotten this build to

 

I do know how hard it is to get him to answer I been there lots of times before! I'm close to him so I stop by when I need to. I hated to see your lightning go the way it went! I did a search for your vids and the three you posted awhile ago are those the only ones you where able to take??

 

yea i didn't know what was going on till i pulled it apart...
not trying to bad mouth PSI i actually think they are terrific just think patrick himself could do a little better

bottom line it
didn't smoke when dropped off
smoked in the parking lot of PSI before i ever drove it
