Default underhood heat

im putting my engine back in my truck this week, i have a frount mount that i made my self, manifolds are mounted in original orientation and i ran basically a backwards y pipe under the oil pan and up to the turbo mounted to the frt of the right cylinder head, i have been running some pacesetter shorty headers and am thinking of going back to the stock manifolds and wrapping my up pipe and down pipe, what do you guys think?

the dei heat wrap and a turbo blanket will make a world of difference with under hood temps.

Definitely wrap your pipes, makes a huge difference. I think the dei wrap is way overpriced. I have used both that and the ebay stuff. You can even buy it at home depot for dirt cheap, it's a little thinner, but just overlap a little more. I think it's $5 for 20ft.

If you go with the DEI, dont waste your money on the shitty titanium wrap just get the regular tan wrap.

I use this Heatshield Products and i think there's a big difference in the cheap stuff vs quality wrap.

What I mean is, what do they advertise it to be used for? What department is it in?

It's for wrapping pipes in your house, I've never seen it used in a house, but I guess some people do. I've seen it in the plumbing dept, also hvac dept too.
