Default Turbo or not??

hey guys i have a problem. i have a 1994 chevrolet 1500 pickup. its ext cab stepside. well it currently has a 5.7 liter 350 V8 and tuesday of next week i will be installing a cam and nitrous, well i have an old 350 block sitting out in my shed and i have been thinking about building it up and running a turbo on it. but then i went to thinking, why not run the nitrous awhile, and save up some money then install a turbo on the current engine, well here is the question. what kinda turbo setup should i get, such as brand and size and wat not, i really dont know much about turbos so any info would be great, and i need to know how hard it would be to install and set up and also wat parts i would need to make it be able to hold the boost. so please i really need some help.

For a turbo on a TBI engine....you'll have a lot of tuning to do. Can it be done...sure but you need to make sure you want to spend hours upon days tuning it. You'll definately need a 454ss TBI or holley unit with big injectors to support it.

oh okay, well would it be easier to build the other 350 up and add a turbo to it? and if so should i leave it a 350 or bore it and then drop a 383 crank in it?

That's totally personal perference on what you want to do. But as the old saying goes...there is no replacement for displacement.

Well....it will totally be a custom build. So, if I was you and building it right the first time, I would need stainless steel tubing and mandrel bends, couplers, reducers, intercooler, and "Turbonetics" is a good place to start. Otherwise, PM Parish and see what brand he runs b/c he pushes his products to the extreme.

For tuning, I would go to moates.net and get a prom burner or Ostrich for on the fly tunning, ODB 1 datalog cable with adapter, and wideband.

And if you plan on nitrous or boost, go forged internals on everything on your next engine build.
