Default Turbo noise?

I have a tc76 BB turbo and it is making a weird noise. It has about 10k miles on it and it is out of warrenty. The turbo is on a STS kit with a 1.15ar exhaust housing and seems to boost fine and makes great power. At idle the turbo doesn't free spin anymore and it makes a squealing noise when it comes to a stop. It's been doing this for a little while but the performance of the turbo hasn't changed other than the noise when it comes to a stop. How bad is this? How much is a rebuild on a BB unit if it needs it? Thanks

it sounds like u have a bearing bad or going bad... the first thing i would do is pulloff ur air filter, grab the turbo wheel and try to move it side to side and up and down... ull know if there is to much play... the outher thing u need to look for it the turbo wheel rubbing on the housing... i had to replace my turbonetics 76mm bb cartridge last year and it cost me $9?? and took 3-4 weeks if i remember right... but my housings were still good... if u need new housings than ur talking $1500-2000...

I wish I could say that I am the cause of your sickness but I'm not on the STS website. My videos are in my sig though. It sounds like you have some nice rides.
