Default Turbo Escalade Track Vid 10-26-05

We put the GT-37 back on the Escalade and went back to the track to see how it would do at 8-9 lbs. The GT-67 obviosuly made a lot more power, but the 37 sees full boost instantly so it's much more fun on the street. The truck ran pretty consistently... 13.52, 13.57, and 13.58. This was on 24 inch wheels, weighing in at 6,055 lbs.

You can hear the announcer say: "The driver of the Nova's gotta be wondering what it is I'm racing up against... Cadillac Escalade of course"

100% stock untouched engine, stock trans w/ shiftkit (did replace the trans another stock one after the first one began to slip), stock converter, Bassani Catback. The turbo has been on the truck for almost 3 years now and no issues. We've had a GT-37, GT-40, GT-67, and GT-70 on the truck. Out of those it runs best with the GT-37 or the GT-67. It went a best ET of 12.88 and best MPH of 109 with a slipping trans with the GT-67 at 13-14 lbs.

Damn thats sweet. I might be your clone soon. I just got a black 05 escalade and already ordered 24s and i got the 2/3 lowering kit in today. I may just have to get me another turbo kit from you. I am just worried about the tranny and T-Case. I hear that they are not all that strong.

Awesome, I'm confident that at that level the engine would live forever and you'd have a good chance of not breaking the t-case or trans either.

is that the LQ9 Caddy? So the smaller turbo works the best with the high compression LQ9? Is the GT-37 maxed out or is there any left w/additional intercooling? SO the base set up is the best for the LQ9???
thanks

Yes, it is the LQ9. With a stock cube motor, stock heads, stock cam, stock converter, etc. the GT-37 has no lag but probably isn't very efficient past 9-10 lbs. The truck went faster with the GT-67 and a slipping transmission, but on the street it didn't seem as fast, because of a slighlty longer spool time. With the correct converter I'm sure it would have helped a lot.

do you think a trailblazer stall would help? Didnt you guys put a kit an a silverado SS, which turbo did he use? The silveradoss crowd wants to hear fomr this guy who has a front mount Livernois Turbo kit, tell us how it is...cause I am working on getting one, but my $$ went to some trans mods...but it is still in my plan to get the front mount turbo...
