Default Turbo accessory locations?

Just wondering what all the posiblities are.

From what I have seen and been told a BOV needs to be before your MAF so it dos not interfere with the signals that the MAF produces for your engine management computer.

Anyone using multiple BOVs have any pics?

A few have told me of using the cheaper Saab type BOVs because of cost and avaliability, you guys have any pics or just chime in on this.

How close to your turbo does your watsegate need to be to work properly?

Does the orientation of the wastegate even matter? I.E. horizontal , vertical or somewhere in between?

Where is the wastegate located on other systems than the STS?
Seen a few pics but not many.

Since the STS system is probably the most unconventional system out being mass produced what would you guys change to make it function or perform better beside the turbo's location?

Here's a pic of my cheapo Bosch blow off. I have an intercooler, so that pipe is going down to the inlet for it. I know HellbentS-10 said they leak boost, but I haven't had a problem with that running 10lbs on my setup. If I was to add another one, (which it could use) it would be right close to this one.

KB thanks for the pic! It helps as I am a visual/hands on person.
Leak boost you say, I wonder how much it would leak and at what psi this would occur?

Like I said, that's just what Hellbent said, I haven't had that problem on this or my turboed S-10, as the vacuum line that opens it is also boost referenced, so every pound of boost the turbo makes, it is using that to help hold the wastegate shut.

The Saab/bosch blow off valve does not age well and can not handle blowing off large amounts of air. They WILL leak boost with time.

Other then that they are great. HKS sells them for twice what Saab sells them for and they call it a 'stage one' BOV.

How about the question of the Wasegate's placement?
Does it have to be a certain distance from the turbo to do its job properly.
I'm thinking of modifying some of the STS piping to solve some of my overboosing problems permanetly.

Or how about this, is there a book out on turbo system build ups that would help. I have done web searhes and come up with allot of garbage or incomplete explanations and articles.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

So your talking about the BOV location? 12-15 inches from the throttle body before the MAF. I've seen so many that are nowhere near that close.
Is that where yours it located?

Scott Mills, thanks for the pics!
