Default Turbo 5.3 and a 4l60E?

I have an 02 GMC ECSB Z71 and I am planning to add a turbo set up shortly. I am thinking of going with CMotorsports setup with a t-66 turbo. I take good care of my stuff but I a willing to push it pretty hard so my question is will a 4L60E be able to do the trick or should I just go to a 4l80E. My buddy is a transmission builder and I don't mind adding the required hard parts to the 4l60 but will it be dependable after that. I would prefer to stay with the 4l60 but I will upgrade if it doens't appear that I can get a dependable performance out of the 4l60. Thanks for help

Eventually no matter what you do, the 60 will break. Of course, if you never get on it and are conservative with your set up, then you would be fine. For most people here, that is not the case. I and most people here will tell you to go with the 80. Good luck!

Even if the 60e holds up the clutches will not last very long.

you need to check out how much power the SS Silverado guys are putting through their 65E's. there is no reason a 5.3L with a turbo can't run a 60E with a few mods.

Stock-no. But with some minor mods it should hold pretty well. My 60e only lasted a week with my D1, but with the kit and servo's it is still holding.
