Ok some slight update.

Took the IC off to remove the tru-cool oil cooler.

Removed the oil cooler.

Re-installed the IC to the A-support of the hood latch. The shop had to fabricate new steel brackets because the aluminum ones that came with the kit did not fit. They say the IC bottom would hit the A-support. The new brackets would set it few millimeters from the A-support.

Oil cooler will be installed in front of the IC. Will leave a space in between as much as possible. Top and bottom brackets will be made to space the oil cooler from the IC.

Next will be:

Install Gauges: Boost, Fuel Pressure, Wideband.
Install MBC.

Then will drive it to exhaust shop nearby to cut and weld the flange for WG to fit. Also, will connect the 3" DP to my 3" exhaust pipe/3" remote controlled Varex muffler.

Install fuel injectors, fuel system.

Finally will be dyno tuning. Likely the dyno tuner is in next block.

 

In the 1st pic in the above post, you can see the amount of cutting at the top portion of the front bumper that was made to clear space for 4" IC core.

 

Why is the cooler mounted that low. Or is the pic just look low.
The top of the core should be against the bottom of the hood latch release ???
And then rests against the "A" frame. The A frame has a support the goes across. It could be bolted or welded. It gets removed.
Then the bottom brackets are just steel strap universal cut to fit. Or just use 2 sided tape at the bottom.
We had that core bolted up in our 02 mock up truck.
Trans cooler can be against the ic with no ill effects to either.

Should put down some nice numbers.

 

Trans cooler is not mounted in this pic yet. I left the shop while they were trial fitting. So, I did not take picture for the trans cooler mounted yet.

But It will be exactly at the front of the IC. I will take a picture tomorrow.

Are u saying that IC showed be lifted up little??

 

I think I got your point. I compared the previous IC fitment with this one you are correct the IC sits lower.

I did not notice it until you mentioned it. But while in the shop, I noticed the cold pipes are little low and highlighted that to the shop but I was told that it will move higher when the clamps are fixed.

Anyway, I sent the pics to guy to look at and asked him why it was installed lower with the brakets that he fabricated.

 

Different core but mounting is the same area.
You can see in this pic how hi it should be able to mount.
Your brackets would be rotated different.
But you've got the idea.

Also about the cooler. See what smokeshow did w his. I just seen it on another thread. He mounted it under the IC goes behind bumper and the air slot forces air through the cooler. Perfect idea!!! I'm changing mine

 

Gonna be tough to convince the guy to change it. I know because he started complaining about lost time due to rework. But this time it's his call. I already mentioned that I don't want to see the cold pipes dangling underneath the air deflector. Also, he told me he added plastic coupler to one side to compensate and complete the cold pipes from IC to TB. This explains because IC was mounted lower than it should be.

 

I saw it. But it sits low and can sustain damage for my case since I use my truck offroad sometime and I go deep desert driving.

I like keeping it Hight infront of the IC.
