personally id swap to a 6.0L and get one of the blowers mentioned, would be easier

On KB's website, now it only says 2.4 for the 5.3. Since thats already larger than the 122, should either of these be ok for the 5.3 or more c.i.?

the lack of low end from a turbo is debateable. yes if you just punch it from an idle the 112/122 or kb will rip it off the line but if you know you are going to be racing you can brake stall it and get boost to launch with. then from there on the turbo ill out pull the blowers for a given boost level.
the trick kit looks prety nice and imo would give you the most power and quickest ET but from what you are saying the simplicity of bolting on a 112/122 and just driving it would be a good thing. from what i am hearing you say i think the 112/122 would be the way to go.
i have heard blown chevy say the 122 is too much blower for a 5.3 but i respectfully disagee. i have a hard time seeing the down side to having a 122 vs the 112. you MIGHT loose a hp or two down very low but having a blower that you wont easialy outgrow would be an important feature to me.
blownchevy has access to lots of dyno data for the 112 and 122. i dont remember seeing any side by side charts of the 112vs122 in a mild 5.3. he probably has posted up this type of info i just missed it. it would be neat to know that info.

Go turbo
we can build all the boost you want early, and the vehicle will be nice and peppy. Full boost before 2500 on a stock truck. Off idle just deck the throttle and have 2-3 psi. Daily drive no problem. No our kits are not carb legal. So if you are in an inspection zoned area, that may cause a problem.
cheers.

I agree with Parish, a 122 is not to big for a nice 5.3 setup. Hell I was very close to maxing out the 112 on my old 4.8 setup.
Personally I would go turbo if you can, but if you are looking for something to just bolt up and go, then go with the Radix from Blownchevy.
