Default Trick Turbo review-1 year later

Figured I'd give a review after a year and 20k miles.
I got the basic kit jet hot coated with the 62mm turbo for my cam only 5.3.The basic kit took 3 hr's to put on,then I added a cheap 3" intercooler. At 7lbs of boost I gained 170hp/190tq with full spool at 1800rpm.Stock tranny blew within 500 miles.

As for the quality?A year later I never had a problem with the kit or engine.(except oil drain line that I lazilly did)The coating still looks new after the New England winter and the turbo has the normal turbo rust.I didn't touch 1 bolt on the motor/kit since the install.Today was the first time I changed the plugs since install and they all looked extremely good, good enough that I wanted to put them back in for another year. This truck also gets an oil change every 6-7k miles and doesn't use a drop.

So I just wanted to say thanks to Trick Performance for building such a good durable turbo kit. This thing definitely exceeded my expectations of quality and power.

Did you change how you did the oil drain? I know how you had it, is it still like that on the bottom of the front part of the pan?

I had the stock converter in the first tranny. After that blew I bought a fully built 4L80 with a small 1800 converter.

The drain at the bottom worked great until the outside temp hit under 10 degree's.Then it wouldn't drain right. So I moved it to the front of the oil pan and never had the problem again.
