Looks like some funky stuff going on with your timing just cruising even when there is no knock.
Dont really understand what i am looking at. Does what your seeing have something to do with oil consumption possibly?

I bet if you remove the vacuum source your oil consumption problem goes away... There's a reason the later models used a restrictor. Good for reducing oil ingestion, bad for letting a boosted engine breathe.

I'm sure this has been touched on.

What plugs are you running?

What would you like to bet? :]

There is no vacuum source per se. His line that introduces very little vacuum, as I showed in my previous post, is connected to his catch can an inch from a huge breather cap. The can has zero vacuum in it. Zero. The only way something is getting to the can is from pressure in the valve covers. :/ His setup right now is no different from drilling a hole in the intake pipe and sticking two breather caps on the valve covers.

The amount of oil in that can is ridiculous. Only thing I can think of off the top my head right now is a bad seal in the turbo, pushing boost through the chra, in the oil drain, thus pressurizing the crankcase.

I appreciate all the help guys. This truck is stressing me out for sure. So for now i have ran both valve covers to the can so they are just vented. I want to see if the can fills up with oil this way. Fresh air and vac source are plugged.

If a turbo seal is bad what seal would it be? How would I check it to find out? Thanks again.

Boost leak test and see what happens.

It's a 150 dollar eBay turbo, so if it's bad I wouldn't even bother rebuilding it.

That's easy to tell.
if a seal was bad you will a huge amount of oil in your inter cooler piping.
Or you will be smoking like a freight train. Out the exhaust.

Turbos don't have 100% perfect seals. They have rings. You can have oil out the exhaust and the turbo be find.
If the oil drain is not going down hill or any type of restriction.
Can cause that issue. But that's not what you are seeing.
Even a poorly venting crankcase can cause what some call bad rings.
The oil has to be allowed to drain. Again this is not what your showing.

The catch can is catching a bunch of oil since its from the valve covers it's doing its job.
But why is there so much oil is the question.

And no it's not a 150.00 turbo.

No, but the oil is definitely an issue. I don't see a correlation to any of the logged parameters and the timing constantly dropping to 0 degrees.

Would the timing issue be caused by bad fuel? This is the only thing BBP says is wrong with the tune.
