I'm having my boosted setup tuned by Justin as well. He told me the same thing that he told you. Putting a breather on the passenger side could pull enough air, after the MAF, to trip a lean code. I ended up just venting both valve covers to a breather tank and used the open line to intake mani for my vacuum block. I do smell oil at stoplights and when slow cruising.

It's usually not recommended to run a street engine without a PCV system. Yes, it will work without it, but moisture from condensation can form in the crankcase and build up, is they are not sucked out by engine vacuum. Not the end of the world, just not ideal.

I have mine plumbed with a catch can to keep oil vapor out of the engine, and filtered air for the PCV is drawn in front of the turbo, between the air filter and compressor. No engine code for me either.

Once I find the time, this is how I'm going to run my PCV system. I don't like the smell of oil in the cab.

I am going to use a mighty mouse catch can I think. I discussed it with him a while ago when BBP said I was getting un metered air but got side tracked. I sent him some pics today so I will see what he says. His cans are pretty decent price and has lots of good reviews on ls1tech. I am guessing it will be plumbed like yours gravedigger.

On another note BBP says I still have some pinging when in boost. Justin said the quality of gasoline I am using sucks. Only have 91 octane here. So I have to try a different station till I find somthing better. I am wondering if adding a gallon or 2 of e85 when i fill up would make any difference. Its only available at one station here and its expensive so don't want to go all e85. Might become to much of a hassle. Would meth injection help with this or not?

You'll never be able to rely on the consistency of pump CA 91. But that being said you should be able to run 6psi and flog the sh*t out of it the same way anyone else in the country can. Meth injection shouldn't be needed at all at low boost levels. What plugs are you running? If your logs are not showing any lean activity then it must be a mechanical issue; maf, unmetered air, etc. Although I'm speed density, I ran off my gate spring at 4psi on CA 91 for weeks and had no pinging at all and I'm 10.5:1 with a less efficient quench pad as I have dished pistons so you must have something mechanical going on. Granted without HP Tuners you can't access your tune file so you can send it to more experienced forum members for review but I doubt the tune is your issue.

I just got my mighty mouse catch can and want to make sure I hook it up correctly. I have 2 connections on the can one with a one way check valve i was thinking this should go in between the air filter and compressor housing. Then T both valve covers together and connect them to the other fitting. Then cap the vaccum port on the manifold. Does this sound right. Its a vented PCV can.

My poor dyslexic mind. Now i am thinking fresh air from between filter and compressor housing to drivers valve cover. Passenger valve cover to non check valve fitting. Check valve fitting to vaccum source at manifold. Pic of directions

Give them a call or email.
Ask how they want that hooked up.
How's the truck running?

Will do I just sent him an email. Truck is running good still have not done any WOT runs yet but getting into boost quite a bit. I dont think 5# is going to be enough for me. Once BBP finishes the tune I will probably run it for a few thousand miles then work my way up to 10#.
The kit itself seems to be working perfectly I love the sounds of the turbo. This thread has obviously gone off topic I need to edit the first post if possible. Just to make sure everyone knows your kit is excellent and great quality.

Awesome write up. I am in the process of installing my stage 2 kit and have picked up some help on here for sure. BBP had told me the same thing about the pcv system. Still not sure what I am going to do with that... I would like to keep an intact system.
