Why has nobody thought of draining the oil back into the engine next to where you get it from. I took the cast loop thing off where the oil cooler goes and made an adapter plate. Seems like the logical thing to do as thats how the oil cooler does it.

Because I'm 99% sure that the oil being returned from the cooler is used to feed the bearings and is under pressure, not just dumped back into the pan.

I have asked about this as well. I have the old cooler lines off the 6.0 and could use that easily. I can't get any feedback on that working as an option. It does seem the logical thing to do. Its my DD tho and I don't wanna be the first to try something that does not work.

Because the oil system of the motor is a much higher PSI then the return line fromt eh turbo. The STS oil pump is just meant to move the fluid not really pressurize the **** out of it like the engine oil pump does. I wouldnt do it. Much better IMO to tap the pan with a weld-in -8 bung then put a 90 on it then attach your return hose, nice and clean and no worries. I just bought my fittings today, the pan goes to the welders tomorrow along with a few other things
