i got 565rwhp and am using a yank 3000 stall converter, billet servos a hardened plate, and a transgo hd kit, however i think i tosted it. as i pull away from a stop in reverse or drive i get a banging like something is binding but as soon as i get rolling it goes away. crusies normal on the hwy shifts fine and everything only when i come to a stop. any ideas what broke? i pulled the front shaft out and its still doing it so its defently the tranny. also if it is should i go with a top of the line level 7 4l60e or just do the 4l80e? the 4l60e built would be eaiser and quicker. i do have a 4l80e conversion but it would need to be freshend up or at least a check up and another $1000 for a new converter plus the install (also cutting and moving the crossmember)and reflash of the cpu. what to do?????

what do you think broke? ive had 1st & 2nd clutch plate go and ihad it redone then 3rd and 4th went on (a stock set up) and ive never had a symptom like this its weird?? any ideas?

 

From the way you describe the noise its sounds very similar to when I had my rear diff break.
