Good feedback. You know what really sucks? I had a Corsa Sport on this truck when I bought it and the only reason I removed it was because a cat failed and I wanted to add long tubes at the time I fixed the cat. Plus I wanted an x-pipe and true dual exhaust. I would have loved to keep the Corsa otherwise.

If I could have (2) Corsa "Touring" mufflers that fit in the space, I would be in heaven....... Oh well, here I am after spending big bucks on stainless flowmasters that are a tad too loud for my tastes, have some drone and may be hurting performance.

Anyone have any good sound clips of the Borla XS mufflers (duals with long tubes and no cats)?

You can stick your arm straight through the muffler I have now, and with a full tailpipe its much quieter daily driving with no drone. It does get loud when you stand on it though. I hated not being able to hear the phone when driving lol

Sorry to hijack this thread, but would you mind checking out my thread regarding 4" mufflers, and give me your thoughts? Any info about your current exhaust setup would be appreciated. Here's a link. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...as-one-489352/

Thanks.

No problem. I posted up in your thread. Hope it helps. Btw, you ever weigh your truck?

It sounds sooooo Nasty!!! Hope I can get some respectable times out of mine like yours. Take care.

yesss...a maggie and temps are a hugeeee problem... i have an almost exact setup as you..2.9 pulley not a 2.8..just a slighly different cam grind..and i dont have long tubes. im only running 19degs of timing..and NO meth either..and im in the same area..( lansing )...ive run 12.3 at 111mph in the 50deg temps...and ran a 13.1 at 100deg nasty muggy day..id reallly look in to the spacers between the blower and block to isolate the heat

edit..lost alil in the 60s with the heat but not a ton..went from a 1.67 to a 1.72 in the heat

Holy Crap!!! I'm at 5550lbs. I wonder how much time/mph I would gain if I removed the seat, tailgate and sub box? Maybe .1 - .15????? Thing is, I can't bring myself to do that as I like to run the number my truck would actually run in the real world. If everyone else is doing that though, maybe I should to bump my standing up a little on "the list" --- lol! I would be interested in what you're street weight is. Thanks.

My 60's don't seem to matter with the heat or not. Sometimes, it hooked better and I would go 1.70, most were in the mid 1.7's though.

Wow, that makes sense based off my 65 degree day results.....Makes me feel better. I was beginning to worry that maybe my engine is going south or something. Seems to run fine, but it just passed the 155,000 mark! You're pretty close! We should try to hook up some of the locals to lapeer during the last few weekends they are open. Always fun to freeze your butt off out there and make passes I'm definitely going to look into the spacer.

I didn't drop 25^, my IAT's only increased 25^ from start to finish of the run. Typically, my IAT's would increase 50^ - 55^ a run (no meth injection). Now, that I'm spraying windshield washer fluid I'm only seeing a 25^ rise. NOTE: That is spraying a lot though. The original nozzles resulted in no knock, but I increased 40^ on the run. Straight methanol would probably result in no cooling at all (or should I say change to how much the IAT's went up), but it would raise octane considerably. Something I don't seem to need right now. I'll play with it more, but I'm very happy with the results. I'm now able to run 21-22^ in 3rd with absolutely no knock! Can't wait for the good weather!

As far as actual temps, they would vary depending on where the IAT was when I started. Here are some of my passes:

No Meth:
95 - 151 = 56
117 - 169 = 52
79 - 136 = 57
122 - 169 = 47
93 - 145 = 52
82 - 138 = 56
104 - 156 = 52

With Windshield Washer Fluid (30% methanol/70% water)
120 - 160 = 40
108 - 138 = 30
109 - 133 = 24
NOTE: each of these methanol injection runs used a progressively larger spray of fluid.

My truck ran 12.00 at street weight. Here's a pic of the slip from the exact same scale, at street weight.
