Default Timing vs Boost vs E85

Well my brother is taking his truck to the track Saturady, and while playing around on the street we've noticed that with E85 the truck loves a lot of timing, but I'm not sure how much is safe? I've pushed as much as 18*@12#s, 16*@14#s and 14*@16#s... we wanna run more but we're not sure where the limit is? We haven't gotten any knock at all yet...

Oh BTW, it has a '99 4.8L w/706 heads, ARP studs, MLS head gaskets, Isky triple 12 cam and a 76mm front mount.

I'd think you would be safe to up it to the boost you want, add in timing a degree or two at a time, then when you experience knock, back it down a degree or two below that.

I'm running 17psi and 21* right now. Boost will be going up and timing will stay where it is for now

Where your at with timing right now is safe. I'd roll with that, if you change anything, leave timing alone and go up in boost.

My truck likes 20-21* at 16 psi. Been that way over a year now. I do use the iat and ect timing tables though, when you're pushing it, you want it to pull some if either one gets hot.
