I got on the truck a little the other day on a straight stretch of road to my neighborhood, part throttle but in boost (enough that the Nittos were fighting for traction) when power dropped off and I let out. Go to turn in the neighborhood... no power steering, voltmeter is at 12V and boost gauge doesn't go over 0 with a quick jab of the throttle. First impression is I tossed the belt. I have only thrown a belt on my KB setup once in the 4 years I have had it and that was due to a misaligned blower pulley. Well I get out, pop the hood and this is what I see...

Belt is a Dayco PolyRib and has been on the truck a little under 3 years. Other than being snapped in half, belt looks pretty good.

I checked the blower and all accs for binding which there was none. Are you supercharged guys (maggy, whipple, procharger, vortec, etc) snapping belts after only a few years use? I have had all my 8-rib swap parts for a few months, I guess it is time to install them. I will be running the Gates green HD belt with the new setup.

Then stay tuned Tim as I plan to clean up some things with the acc drive and bracketry when I do the 8-rib swap.
I guess the belt served it's time given the amount of stress it had to endure. I did have it on there pretty tight to try and counter the belt slip I got when I put on the 3.25" pulley.

, sucks to hear ya broke a belt but give ya a good excuse to do the 8 rib now!
