Thinking about going boosted again....

Does it have to be turbo? I ran a Magnuson supercharger for 75,000 - 80,000 trouble free miles. Blew the transmission around then, replaced the tranny, ran it for a few more years just fine and sold it around 105,000 miles. Granted, this was a 2006 Sierra with the cast iron 5.3L engine and 4L80E (I think). Pretty rock solid stock equipment back then.

I run 12psi and even 15psi. Every day. No issues and truck gets 20mpg if I drive nice and zero issues. It's funny because dealer was asking me what they had to do to start it. I said just turn the key, he though there was something special had to be done. Little louder than stock and watch how aggressive you get on the pedal but other than that all good.
Only issue everyone has is 8psi is never enough And with turbo a button or **** can add boost. I find it hard to say no.

I think so many people start chasing numbers on turbo's and it just kills the drivability. I do love the Whipple on my daily because I really drive it in the 1500-2500 range almost all the time and they do have top end potential for sure. HOWEVER, a right sized turbo that will spool at less than 3500 would be my choice on anything that I don't have to haul **** all the time and putt around. I will have a trick kit in my future for some damn thing!
