Synergymotorsports tune
#1
Many of us know how frustrating it can be to invest a lot of time and money into performance improvements only to have them fall far short of the advertised gains.
That was the case when I installed a Procharger system on my 02’ GMC 6.0.
They include an FMU to adjust fuel pressure in an effort to control air/fuel ratio. No amount of adjusting would get it close to drivable. Next plan, reprogram the computer.
Tried one shop using a Dynojet and LS1Edit were able to get some good hp and torque numbers but below 3800 rpm the truck felt nearly stock. That’s where I needed the power, between 2000-3000 rpm where I tow.
Took it to Rick a Synergymotorsports.net in Fremont,CA and using a wheel dyno and HPTuners got some excellent results.
HP & torque are about the same but the real improvement was down low. Picked up 130lb ft at 2500 rpm, right where you tow. Towing my 5000lb trailer fuel economy improved 25% and all around drivability is better than stock. Coolant and trans temps stay cool and safe now as well. It’s much quicker too, it’s like a different truck.
I’m writing this to give credit to Rick and the guys at Synergymotorsports.
Good job!
