What fuel? And do you run meth?

Jim_PA 02-07-2019 11:08 AM

93 Octane, and no meth.

Depending on compression 12psi is pushing it IMO on a daily with pump only.

With a good tune (and a meth system is a solid fairly low cost option) there is no reason why you could not run 12psi with no troubles. What injectors? You MIGHT need a bigger pump or a second one to stay safe......

FIC Bosch 60Lb: https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/p...high-impedance

How much meth do you go through on a daily driver? Doesn't sound like something fun to deal with all the time.

I ran 12psi on my 5.3 with no meth almost 10 years with zero issues daily driven in Texas weather

Meth systems can be set up to only come on at a certain boost psi I think. You shouldn't HAVE to run them all the time unless you are using it to crutch the octane rating and trying every trick for max power.

You can run quite a bit of boost on 93 only but there is a point where you have to kill so much timing your better off to run less boost and more timing. It’s all a trade off.

I think I'll start by keeping it under 10, and then get on the meth at a later date. Who should I contact for a cam (custom?) for this particular application?

Previous cam:
Tick Performance Blower Stage 1 V2 Camshaft

Other options:
A & A Supercharged Camshaft
This camshaft works very well with small centrifugal blowers on smaller engines. Drivability will be excellent with this camshaft.
