You guys think its bad up there, try it down here. You gotta be brown to get anyone to ring you up, I **** you not. This was not just a one time problem either... Out of all the local parts houses I've been to throughout florida, (not counting NAPA, they're cool) I've dealt with ONE Autozone that had competent people.

 

i normaly deal with auto zone or napa.. or summit. inlaw had a good deal going where we got a good discount and he paid for the parts.. still pissed though

ok so now 20$ later my machine shop has put the gear on a lave and turned .10 out if it and now its in spec.. must have bbeen made on a monday or a friday when no one gave a ****.

 

Our advanced is dumb as hell too. Tried to get a belt for an 01 silverado...
Cashier: Does it have a/c?
Me: Doesn't matter. The a/c has it's own belt.
Cashier: That's not what the computer says. It says with or w/o a/c.
Me: Forget it. I'm going to NAPA.

Those damn computers run the place. I'm surprised the employees don't depend on them to sweep the floors.

 

just tell m it has muffler bearings or glow plugs on a gas motor..

 

i recently went to get a belt for my old truck with an underdtive pulley and an overdrive alt oulley. i walked i to advanced and told them i needed a belt and gave the guy the gates part #time i needed... he proceeded to ask me the year, make, and model of tye truck. i just told him it didnt matter because a stock length belt will not fit. he then said he couldnt look up the belt like that with a part #time because they dont carry gates.... i just walked out. im SOOOOO tired of dealing with those idiots... i guess the guy had never heard of using his COMPUTER to cross reference part numbers

 

stupid bastards lol.. at least with autozone or napa they arnt as stupid and can look that stuff up

Of win. That being said all i buy from local parts places are consumables. Summit racing is 3 hours away and a wholesale gm dealership is 45 min.

 

I love Summit Racing. I'm about three hours away from the nearest one to me, as well. A bunch of older white guys are always working out in the showroom every time I've been, and they're no b.s. I wish I was closer.
