I am the second owner of my system with a different oil pump on this one. I love this thing. The cost, the efficiency, the seat in the pants power. Im not currently running exhaust on mine, its just stock manifolds to y pipe to 3" to turbo and I love it. Its quiet when it wants to and loud as hell when you put your foot in it. I love the sound of the whistle

Over all I would give the STS an A++. Of course I love front mounts too, but power compared to cost you cant beat this

I had an STS kit that I just sold. I never ran it, but I was worried about the location of the turbo being that my truck is pretty damn low and I drive my truck everywhere. I'm now doing a front mount on a budget.

I've never had an issue with the filter, once I got over where it was mounted... Hell I can't remember the last time I cleaned it....

Thanks for all of your input, I really appreciate it! Overall the STS kit sounds like a well proven kit, even though it still has a few cons. Those things can be fixed fairly easy though. Well as soon as I find a good truck for the right price I am buying! I have my eye on a used kit as well! lol Keep coming with the input/stories I really want to here all the good and bad. If you have had a bad experience let me hear your story please. Thanks again.

STS kits are good if you buy them from the right people. If you buy one from Kyle you will end up changing turbo, swapping to a 6.0L, making an intercooler, built trans, True Trac, meth, cam, etc. all to be faster than the person that sold it to you.LOL

On a serious note I really like the STS kits. In my opinion they are great for the street and can be good for the track. STS kits are a PITA at the track but you get used to it. I also had one of the first STS kits on my TA in 2004 that made 505rwhp at 5.5psi so I am a believer. The TA was bad *** with the turbo but the motor didn't like it for long so the 402 replaced it.

I have always worried about the oil pump so I bought a spare online for $180 and keep it in my tool box just in case. The other thing I would recommend would be to buy a spare maf on Ebay for $50 just in case you would happen to get water or oil in the intake pipe. There is nothing worse than getting stuck for something stupid.

It's coming. I tuned at 13psi this week and it's nasty. As long as it stays together it should easily break into the 11's soon.

PS. Oh yeah, 12.69 was my first time to the track with the new turbo and motor and it was only 9.5psi.
