Street truck build
#1
I’m new to this forum but not to the truck world. Not too many people are building modern street trucks but I’ve always wanted to build one. I’m looking for a regular cab V8 but one that can handle forced induction on stock internals. Anybody know what I should be looking for?

Your best bet for a GM truck would be a 2005-2007 NBS body style in my opinion. It's before the AFM engines and they will already have the better H beam connecting rods that can handle big power. Making 500-700hp would be easy enough with a supercharger or turbo charger depending on what engine size you got.
You'll still need to upgrade the transmission on the half tons to a 4L80e and get a better rear end locker because the stock unit will just explode.

Not going to find a factory optioned 6.0L in a regular cab 1500. May find a reg cab long bed in a 2500 which would also provide the 4l80 trans. Your V8 RCSB options are going to be 4.8 or 5.3L and I would go for a 5.3 if the option were there. If a power plant swap is in the cards, go with either.
