Thumbs up stock "New I/C'd KB" results

"We finished the Kenne Bell install on a stock 01 Z06 last week. Unfortunately it got the dreaded column lock failure and had to go to the dealer on Monday. They finished it yesterday but I got hurt and couldn't get it until today.
I'm just posting this because I've had a lot of you asking for the final results.
496 RWHP and 483 RWT. Air fuel is just under 12:1 and it has as much timing as the motor will stand without getting into detonation. That's all we or any tuner can do.
Now remember, this is an 01 Z06. An 02- 04 would be about 20- 25 RWHP ahead of this.
It made almost 8# of boost down low and tapered off to 7# up top.
The stock KB tune was actually designed around an 02 and up Z06 and wouldn't work with the 01. The smaller cam probably made more cylinder pressure down low. It rattled pretty hard on tip in.
I called them just to let them know what I'd found on the tuning.
They're going to work on a separate program for the 01 Z"(Andy@AandACorvette)

Why did the boost fall off? It should not have done that unless the belt is slipping or the intake is restrictive, right? Great none the less! Keep up the good work. We have the 02 Z06 motor at 8psi and it runs like a beast.

Did you see this on a supercharged stock engine.

I think the numbers are actually pretty good. Can you show us an example of a Magnuson on a stock C5/Z06 at that boost level with better numbers?

just as i suspected.....boost and spark limited on a stock motor. Is it capeable of more on a forged set up, yes.....will it make alot more power than a Magnuson on a stock motor....NO.

A&A is well known for high HP set ups, and I know for a fact he was hoping for more on a stock motor. Just proved my theroy, thanks Andy!

Agreed, you can only push those hyper-you-cracked-it pistons so far at that static CR.. on any forced induction setup. I would assume the 01 Z06 was otherwise stock... as in no exhaust changes or other external bolt-on enhancements. Typically an 01 Z06 will put down about 340-345rwhp on a Dynojet. 150rwhp improvement by just strapping on a positive displacement blower with a custom tune is not bad at all...

BTW, saw the new M122 on the 07 Shelby Mustang in the new issue of Hot Rod... nice. The M122, IMO, is really going to give the KB 2.6 a run for its money.
