Motor will live forever at that power level with good fuel and tune.

Forgot to say he is running head studs and ls9 head gaskets. At 10psi you could probably drive that thing forever.

Mine is a 06 rcsb. Wish I would've got the ls9 gaskets and arp studs when I did the cam swap.

This is interesting. Id just like to say its all in your tune. Or what fuel your using and if your using meth.

I blew a hole through a piston within 2 hours after my tune.

16 degrees timing 11.7afr. 91 octane. 10psi boost.

would you guys suggest regapping pistion rings on 15lbs? also does swapping 317 heads on a 5.3 make higher boost easier on the engine?

15lbs NO PROBLEM. Get the tune on and turn it up. Blocks and cranks, rods, pistons have been taking these numbers for some time and have been living. Some will open the gaps on the rings up, but it is not a must, unless you plan to run it alot under big boost numbers. Heads only lower boost based on cylinder CC's. You can mkae less boost and more power on some set ups. Boost is actually a restriction. But to answer the question 15lbs on 706 heads and 15lbs on other heads is the same on the bottom end.

Stock 5.3 block and heads here, 17 psi with Whipple on pump gas with meth and no problems. Its been like this for 7 months and its my daily driver and I go WOT almost everyday, before that it was 15 psi for about 5 months. Still going strong, it's all in the tuning.
