starting a turbo build... need help
#11
I'm in a similar boat as you. My turbo project has been ongoing for almost a year now. Here is what I have in my possession and what I still need:
-KB Hot parts including the log-style manifold
-KB Intercooler setup, with all piping and couplings set up for a MAF sensor
-Tial 38mm wastegate
-Tial 50mm blow off valve
-60 lbs mototrons(also have 42#s already in the truck)
-oil setup including -4an feed and a -10an drain and a WJ mark cooler plate
-Precision T61 turbo with a .68 exhaust housing(I'm looking a pretty flat torque curve not peak)
-2004 LS6 cam
-Autometer boost gauge
-PLX Wideband
-Tr6 plugs
-and a few other things I'm forgetting
On the list still to buy before I install it:
-Walbro In-tank fuel pump
-Boost controller
-Possibly a turbo blanket
-Possibly a meth kit
-Possibly get the hot parts coated
-Turbo filter
Hopefully others will chime in on what I forgot.
I have a few things already from my current setup which is basically a cammed 5.3L with nitrous.

yessir..it made 500rwhp at 12psi...it would make 17psi but we never did that on the dyno.
i sold the kit not long after we got done with it. the turbo has 1100 HARD miles on it and never leaked and still just as tight as the day we fired it up. its fixin to be put into use again actually
