Default starting my build

I have a sc step side with a lq9, wheatley tuned, 4.11 gears with 20in wheels.
I mostly tow with it but my goal is high 12s while still being able to tow well, and still get 20 mpg. I just purchased a mp112 with 2.8 pulley and he thinks it has 60lb injectors. Im leaning towards the headers on ebay from dna motoring for only 280.00, still researching. Id like to run a cam that can us ls6 springs so im between the 212-218 low lift from comp or the gt7 from lingenfelter. I know the gt7 is a better FI cam but the 114 lobe separation of the comp cam is still wide enough and would give better low end for towing as well as a cooler sounding idle. Also the mp112 is a little small for a 6.0 would a cam with more low end be a better match? Im running a stock stall for towing and I preferr the way it feels.

Question

Does anyone think I need a cam to reach my goals or could the stock one do it?
I run 14.40 now.

The truck in my signature runs mid 12's (without nitrous) in hot weather if that helps you any. The 112 should get you in the high 12's in cooler weather. I wouldn't go much bigger than a GT2-3 or late LS6 cam. Both work and work well with the maggie.

21 on 410s wont be doable but with my old radix setup and 373s i was getting 20mpg highway. cam choice should be 218 224 563 579 115 or 114 dont go any more radical or your rotors will clack together that cam makes good power on the radix. im still running it with my twins. prc duals are a safe bet on springs

Thanks for the response. Sounds like 12s are not possible without the cam swap. Would the lingenfelter cams be better for mileage and emissions with the wider lobe separation? gt23 has more lift while the gt7 has more duration and wider lsa compared to each other.
