Standard Water/Methanol Injection vs W/M Port Injection
#1
Had a thought earlier and figured id run it by the guys.
Im slowly gathering parts for my truck and was looking at a intake manifold with 16 injectors. Holley 300-624
After reading about folks thinking standard W/M injection nozzles prethrottle body had poor cylinder to cylinder distribution, figured why not just run a separate fuel system for Methanol with its own injectors and port injection.
Snow performance nozzle selection guide shows one would need a 20GPH nozzle for 1000hp/21-25psi boost.
Single 20GPH nozzle = ~135LB/HR Methanol.
Divide for 135LB/HR by 8 individual injectors that comes out to ~17LB/HR per Injector
So if one were to get the cheap 50# Flex Fuel injectors they would flow plenty of fuel and have a pretty good spray pattern. Ive tested the 50# injectors down to 15psi and their pattern is very impressive.
Think its worth a try?
Ive already got the Dominator ECU so up to 16 injectors isnt a issue. And i already have a Holley W/M injection pump and setup so i can put that on and do a comparison.

I couldn't find the post with parish talking about his W/M injection deal. I got some the cheap 50# flex fuel injectors and they all flow within 1.8% on the flow bench using mineral spirits as a test medium. Got my old FIC 80# injectors that i ran for years in my ole turbo truck and checked them to make sure they were still flowing good. Now I need to order the intake and some engine parts so I can get the L33 ready to go in the truck.

You know I think Jim posted in my thread about port on my 16. It was my turbo build on Camaro 6. Like I said Idk if he ever did anything or if Choda did either...he's on here and Camaro 6. I absolutely love your posts. Wish we were close in proximity. Seem to know your stuff. I'm an AC guy for 50 years.
