Yeah the 4.8 blows *** without a doubt my 4.8 has a little bit of mods done to it...and i drove an 06 with the 5.3...it was so freaking sad it was not even funny...like i wont even put the bitch to the floor any more just for the fact that i feel like a dumb *** even trying to go fast in it. and yeah the 6.0, 5.3 , 4.8 are all the same block really the heads will all bult up...my buddy here in town is running a really nice truck i dont want to bragg for him but he is running a 5.3 with 6.0 heads...but im almost 100% sure that its the same block with just a different bore and stroke...i could be wrong...and yeah i would like a different truck since i have had my truck just a year and its at 30xxx miles and they are going to cover everything with the sts system on it...as long as its in a 2wd truck

There is not that much of a difference bwteen the 4.8L and 5.3L IMO. My POS stock 4.8L went 14.6 in a RCSB.

If you do a search for STS you'll find 1 BILLION posts that you could read for the next 2 weeks and you'll learn a ton! We've went through a big learning curve and thew turbo systems have come out the better for it.

I would put the STS on the 4.8L myself. Huge power can be made with either engine, just depends on the budget, tuning and a lot of research/learning.

4.8 liters suck. Takes to much to make any real power. always breaking **** and you have to push them to the limit to make the power you could with a bigger engine at 1/2 power....

LOL, I was trying to stick up for the little guy . I agree though, bigger is better. That Australian turbo 346 made a bunch of power, that crossed my mind when I posted, but it was full race

Is that why you run in the 11's?!? I don't see many 5.3's doing that?

My POS 4.8 did a 14 flat at 5000lbs with an embarrassing 2.6 60ft, a shitty clutch, no IC and a 6000ft DA. It's funny to kick people's asses with a smaller engine. They have no excuse.

Buuuuut...if you can afford to bigger, then by all means do it.
