Spark plug gap for a procharged 5.3l
Alright so I made a thread a while back about some TR6's that I had installed. I set them at a .035 gap. They would missfire above 4k rpm. So I took them out a d reinstalled the stock plugs.
I consulted with Nelson performance and they told me to gap them at at the biggest a .028 gap. So I did and reinstalled the TR6's this morning at the aforementioned gap. This time the truck seemed to wake up and drove much better under heavy throttle, until around 5200 rpm then the misfire returned.
So here's my question. Right now my assumption is to gap them a little tighter around .025-.026ish. For the people running TR6's in a procharged application what gaps are yall runing?
I'm going to check and recheck the wires to make sure that isn't the problem. But I'm assuming that the gap is the problem.

I have some br6efs in the box (bought them before I had done some research and fond that the TR6's were commonplace around here) and haven't thought about installing them since. Thanks for the quick input!

Im not procharged. im turboed but i run the tr6's at .028 and i have ran 14lbs of boost without a problem for a long time. without a issue. so i dont see why your having a issue. maybe you have a bad plug. i had this problem once i gapped them where i needed them to be but i kept having misfires on #7 cylinder all the time. i fought this for a few months. i ended up pulling the plugs and looking them over very well and it had the smallest crack in one of the plugs and thats all it took. i put a new plug in that cylinder and it ran great after that.

Well since I still have the reciept from the BR's I'm going to exchange those for a fesh set of 6s. With the 6s I have now being installed a couple times I'd rather have a fresh set in there for some piece of mind. With the new set I'm going to set the gap at .025. If the misfire continues I will start to look elsewhere.

tr6's set at .030 procharged 6.0 and 75 shot. at .032 it would missfire. you shouldnt be having problems at that gap. if you set it to 25 and still have missfires you may wanna check for detenation, fueling issues or have nelson log whats goin on
