Default sort of a problem with supercharger pulley. opinions please

So I got a 2.6 6 rib supercharger pulley last year, and it worked perfectly. I was going to upgrade to a 10% overdrive pulley, and it comes with 8 ribs. I decided to order a 2.6" 8 rib to complete the system along with alt, and Pwr steering pulleys. Well I installed the supercharger pulley, and the shaft doesn't make it through the center of the nut. It doesn't look like it will be on enough for 20,000 rpm's to me. The guy I bought it from doesn't seem like he wants to cut the hub down properly for me. He says it will be .fine. What does everyone think? I think he just doesn't want to fix it.

Get it cut down so you can get the nut on all the way.
