Default Some recent IAT findings

So I have not been to the track for a couple years, so I really havent done any long WO pulls. Couple weeks ago I went to the track and found that my IATs were rising 75 deg from start to finish, they never used to do this. Now Ive changed quite a bit since last time at the track including raising boost so...... Long story short I was making more heat then my heat exchanger could handle. I went to a Lingenfelter Verimax pump and added a second HX. Now my IAT's rise 24 degrees on a 0-120 pull. Interestingly enough, they peak at like 95mph and then just flatline.

Kinda sucked, the truck was running strong on blasts on the road just didnt stay in it long enough to notice iats going crazy. I could feel it at the track loose power once I hit the 1/8m. I seen 189 deg iat at the end of the pass.

Today after a 0-120 pull they peaked at 99!!!!! Just wanted to share incase anyone is fighting high IAT's. Joe at leftcoast32 took care of me, when I talked with him about it he said right off the bat that I was making too much heat for the one HX. Tracks are done for the year so ohhh well.

This is GREAT news! Bet it's way stronger next time out. Can't wait to see but either way it's a big win. Congrats!

I remember when I was messing with heat exchangers on my old setup I didn't see much improvement with a larger cooler, just faster recovery times. My peak temps didn't change much.

Could this be where the higher volume pump is changing the results you both saw? My guess is yes.

Lightning guys dont bother with heat exchangers but instead go larger ice tank, larger intercooler lines, and larger intercooler pump
