There is a simple explanation...I am just missing it right now.... I would tend to trust the dyno curves, but my ***-o-meter has a definitive increase in pucker factor at 21*-23* timing......

The thing that sucks is the only dyno in town is a Mustang dyno run by a bunch of guys who know little about a chevy.... they are **** about not letting me ride the dyno also.... sure wish Vinci was closer.....

Hmmmm... I wonderwhat a good dyno setup is going for these days....

diferent set ups like diferent amounts of timing. with philips tt118 my 408 likes 21deg of timing and maybe even more but this rocketbrand 118 didn't gain but a few hp going from 16 to 18deg of timing. seems like the rule of thumb is if you dont get at least 5ph per deg of timing then it isn't worth it.

i have said it before but i will say it again. more boost and less timing will give you more safe power.

Have you said that as many times as you have said, those of us that have horsepower tend to never be satisfied with the status quo?.......

I hear ya on the timing......

I gues its different strokes for different folks. I will stick to my 12 psi and 18* of timing and be happy. Truck pulls hard and loves the set up......and is safe. I am sure that the data that jim has speaks for itself, and I am sure that it does make more power that way.....just not the way I like to do it, thats all.

if your compresor is large enough to turn it up and you are tuning to the edge of knock i bet you would make more power with more boost and less timing.
