small turbo cam for mid range-focused 4.8
#11
From what i understand the ls6 cams make way better than stock cam power up top but leave a lot to be desired in the low end and mid range. I couldnt be happier with my 3x12. I have an extremely long hotside on my car and seriously this cam is night and day difference in spool up and how fast the power comes in. It continues to pull really hard up top until the shift at 6500. I get the fact that the ls6 cam is a cheap upgrade but i dont think there is any real comparison between a spec cam and a factory grind. Just spend the extra money now and you will not regret it.

Hey folks, so FYI I ended up going with the triple 12 from Jarrett, a bit predictable I know but given how many seem to be happy with it on here hard to argue with that, and though I did consider going smaller duration still, have also made a decision on turbos and figure they gonna spool real fast anyway (gt2871r's). Looking forward to all the parts showing up in a container soon so I can start putting together, cheers for all the advice/opinion will post up a build thread prolly once the fun begins

These puppies: Garrett GT2871R Ball Bearing Turbo V-Band version | Trade Me v-band housing is a bit bigger than the internal gated version but based on how they spool on Rb25s or other 2-2.5L jap motors should be party time by ~2.5k rpm, and should see a few psi earlier than that

Those things are gonna be full boost by 2500rpm. Ought to be super fun to drive. Ive been wanting to use a couple of hx40 holsets on a build. I think they would be a blast and should flow enough air to do 800rwhp. Definitely in for the results of this build.
