Default Sizing a turbo correctly

Before you say anything I have read and read...I am still not understanding it all. I read everything I can get my hands on.

I have a 08 Silverado 2wd, short bed with a 5.3. I am installing aftermarket PRC heads and a cam. As well as putting together a turbo system. My first go around. This is a street driven truck that is not daily driven but I want it fast and the ability to drive it whenever I'd like.

I need some help/opinions on what size turbo to run I guess. Seems like most are running a s475?? But the other sizing numbers I don't understand when it comes to sizing the correct unit that I will need.(??/??) Also the waste gate sizing, the spring controls the pressure correct? But the 46mm,50mm, etc throws me off as well. I greatly appreciate any help I could get.

Thanks!

Gate sizing is dealing with the size of the valve in the gate.
5.3L a 46mm is plenty.
Turbo sizing depends on the final HP and more importantly what you want out of your kit.
If your looking for big hp on a Dyno, low track times, or daily driving fun.

Yeah, It depends on your goals. If you just want a fun daily around 450-550 hp, then I stick with a smaller S366 or S369. Will spool really well on a 5.3 and be a blast on the street. A S475 is a 800+hp capable turbo and as such, won't spool as fast on a 5.3. It really all depends on what you want out of the truck.

If I was specing you a turbo kit, I'd build a BW S369, JGS 40mm wg and a 50mm bov. Would be a really fun street truck!

Like the BW S369sxe???I'd love to be around 600hp from what I've read. How do I figure out the AR I need? The wg is the hot side and the bov is cold correct? Do you sell any of these? I want a really aggressive street truck to drive to the track a couple times a year with my buddies. Thanks alot for your help

Yes, that turbo with the .91 a/r would be just fine. I sell all of it and a kit to let you just bolt it all on!

That's what I got except it has the 1.0 A/R divided housing. I couldn't decide so I just picked the bigger one because it is closest to .96.

Be honest 650 should be doable with the 71mm.
Just dynod over 600 corrected with a small frame t4 and a little exhaust wheel in Colorado.

nice...by 71mm you mean an S371? I was just thinking that an S300 may be a little more street friendly than an S400 series turbo on a 4.8/5.3 and spool considerably sooner.
